When: Wednesday, October 7, 2020 | 2-3:30pm

Where: Webinar

Archer Faculty: José M. Jara, Esq.

Overview: The Employee Retirement Income Security Act of 1974 (ERISA) is a federal law that sets minimum standards for most voluntarily established retirement and health plans in private industry to provide protection for individuals employed within these plans. In 2013 a Federal contractor with a self funded ERISA health plan was under investigation by the EBSA division of the DOL. While the contractor prevailed in the end, the case lasted six years and cost an accumulation of over $7 million in legal fees. Join one of the defense attorneys in the case, Jose Jara of the Archer Law Firm, as he presents a case study on the importance of ERISA Compliance and how to take pro active measures to avoid a similar investigation with the DOL.
